The Kannada subjunctive (using the -ali suffix) expresses wishes, suggestions, or polite requests.
- Use -ali for third-person suggestions: 'Avanu barali' (Let him come).
- Use -ali for polite requests: 'Dayavittu kshamisali' (Please forgive).
- Combine with 'illa' for negative wishes: 'Avanu baradirali' (Let him not come).
