Negation in Unreal Conditionals (Gəlməsəydi)
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use '-məsəydi' to talk about past regrets or hypothetical situations that didn't actually happen.
- Add -ma/-mə to the verb root first for negation: 'gəl' -> 'gəlmə'.
- Attach the conditional -sa/-sə followed by the past suffix -ydı/-ydi.
- Always use the 'y' buffer before the past suffix: 'gəlməsə-y-di'.

Smart Tips
Start with 'Kaş' and use the '-məsəydim' form.
Look for the -sa/-sə right before it. If it's there, you're looking at a 'what if' scenario.
Try saying it without the 'y'. If it sounds like two vowels are crashing into each other, you need the 'y'.
Don't look for a word for 'had'. Just use the -ma/-sa/-y/-di chain.
