⚠️

Preguntas frecuentes (8)

Historically they were different, but over centuries, the endings merged (syncretism). Now, only the preposition tells them apart.

Use 'ka' before words starting with k, g, or h, or if the word starts with a difficult consonant cluster like 'st' or 'zd'.

No. 'U' and 'na' only govern Accusative (movement) or Locative (location).

In modern standard Croatian, 'prema' is considered to govern the Dative case.

It means 'in my opinion' or 'according to me'. It's a very common Locative expression.

Think of the word 'ljubavi' or 'školi'. Feminine singular always ends in -i for both Dative and Locative.

It's less common than 'kod' or 'blizu', but you'll hear it in idioms like 'pri ruci' (at hand) or 'pri sebi' (conscious).

Yes, when it governs the Locative, it almost always refers to the topic of thought, speech, or writing.
