Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Quantifiers like 'många' (many) and 'mycket' (much) change based on whether the noun is countable or uncountable.
- Use 'många' for countable plural nouns: 'många äpplen' (many apples).
- Use 'mycket' for uncountable singular nouns: 'mycket vatten' (much water).
- Use 'några' for a few or some: 'några vänner' (some friends).
Meanings
Quantifiers are words that express the amount or degree of a noun. In Swedish, they must agree with the noun's countability and grammatical gender.
Countable Plural
Used for things you can count individually.
“Jag har många böcker.”

Uncountable Mass
Used for substances, abstract concepts, or uncountable items.
“Jag dricker mycket kaffe.”

Indefinite Quantity
