Choosing Imperfective vs. Perfective in Present Tense
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use imperfective for ongoing or repeated actions, and perfective for completed, one-time events.
- Imperfective: Focus on the process (e.g., 'Čitam knjigu' - I am reading a book).
- Perfective: Focus on the result (e.g., 'Pročitao sam knjigu' - I finished reading the book).
- Habitual: Always use imperfective for repeated actions (e.g., 'Svaki dan pijem kavu').
