The 'sa' rule

Always use 'sa' if the next word starts with s, z, š, or ž. It makes speech flow better.
⚠️

Don't forget the ending!

The preposition is only half the work. You must change the noun ending to Genitive.
🎯

Think of containers

If you can put something inside it, use 'iz'. If it's a flat surface, use 's/sa'.
💬

Regional variation

In some dialects, people might drop the 'iz', but in standard Croatian, it is mandatory.
