ज़रूरी व्याकरण

Nouns in Danish have grammatical gender (common or neuter). 'Hold' is a common gender noun.

Et hold (a team) - *Note: 'et' is the indefinite article for common gender nouns.*

The definite singular form of common gender nouns ending in a consonant is formed by adding '-en'.

Holdet (the team) - *Note: 'hold' ends in 'd', a consonant.*

The plural of some common gender nouns is the same as the singular form.

Mange hold (many teams) - *Note: 'hold' does not change in the plural here.*

When a common gender noun is preceded by an adjective, the definite article 'den' is used, and the noun takes its indefinite form.

Det gode hold (the good team) - *Note: 'det' is used before 'gode hold' instead of 'holdet'.*

Compound nouns are common in Danish. 'Hold' can be part of many compound words.

Fodboldhold (football team), arbejdshold (work team) - *Note: the first part specifies the type of team.*
