When saying 'Chhob sin' to a driver, it's polite to use a kinship term like 'Pou' (Uncle) or 'Bang' (Older sibling) before the phrase. Hand gestures are vital. A flat palm facing the person is the standard 'stop' sign, but keep it low to be polite. In Khmer culture, interrupting someone is generally avoided, so 'Chhob sin' is often said with a slightly rising, apologetic tone. The concept of 'sin' (first) is used in many polite requests, like 'Nyam sin' (Please eat first) or 'Toal sin' (Please go first).
