Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use this tense to report past actions you didn't witness yourself or to express doubt/hearsay.
- Use the 3rd person past imperfect form of the verb.
- Add the particle 'бил' (was) for all persons except 3rd person.
- The 3rd person often omits the auxiliary 'бил' in casual speech.
