In Iran, saying 'Doroste' repeatedly while someone is talking is a sign of 'active listening.' It doesn't mean you agree with everything, just that you are paying attention. In Dari Persian, 'Durust ast' is used similarly but often sounds slightly more formal to Iranian ears. They might also use 'Sahih ast' more frequently in daily speech. Tajik speakers use 'Durust' but because of Russian influence, they might also use 'Inja' or other structures for confirmation, though 'Durust' remains the literary standard. In official documents, 'Sahih' (صحیح) is preferred over 'Dorost' to avoid any ambiguity, as 'Dorost' can also mean 'fixed' or 'repaired.'
