Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
To compare two things in Mongolian, add the ablative suffix -аас/-ээс to the object you are comparing against.
- Use -аас/-ээс after the noun you are comparing: 'Би чамаас өндөр' (I am taller than you).
- The suffix changes based on vowel harmony: 'а, о, у' take -аас, while 'э, ө, ү' take -ээс.
- The adjective remains in its base form without needing a special comparative suffix like '-er' in English.
