Don't use this for physical objects you lent someone. If you lent a book, you'd say ممكن ترجعلي الكتاب. While the verb is the same, الملفات specifically implies digital data recovery in this context. Using it for a physical file folder is okay, but people might still think you mean the digital version first.

In many Arabic-speaking workplaces, there is a strong culture of 'fazza' or helping out. Asking for help with tech isn't seen as a weakness. It’s often an opening for a social interaction. If someone recovers your files, it's common to offer them a coffee or tea as a thank you.

In different dialects, the verb might change slightly. In Egyptian, you might hear ممكن ترجعلي الحاجات اللي اتمسحت (Can you return the things that were deleted?). In the Gulf, you might hear تقدر ترد لي الملفات؟ (Are you able to return the files to me?). Both convey the same desperate need for data recovery!
