من وجهة نظري

You can drop this phrase almost anywhere in a sentence, but it usually shines at the very beginning. It acts as a soft intro. For example, if you're deciding on a place to eat, you don't just say 'The food is bad.' You say, من وجهة نظري، الأكل ليس جيداً. It makes you sound more thoughtful and less like a harsh critic. You can also change the 'my' part to 'your' or 'his' by changing the ending, but نظري (my view) is what you'll use most.

This phrase is a social chameleon. Use it in a business meeting to suggest a new strategy without stepping on your boss's toes. Use it with friends when debating which football team is better. It’s also great for texting when you want to make sure your tone doesn't come across as too aggressive. If you are reviewing a book, a movie, or even a cup of coffee, this is your best friend.

Avoid using this for objective facts. If you say, 'From my point of view, the sun is hot,' people might look at you funny—because the sun is hot for everyone! Also, if you are in a situation where you need to show absolute authority or give a direct command (like a doctor in an emergency), skip the fluff and be direct. Using it too much in a heated argument might also make you sound like you're being overly defensive or 'playing it safe.'

Arabic culture places a high value on 'Adab' (etiquette and politeness). Being too blunt can sometimes be seen as 'Ghashim' (clumsy or rude). By using من وجهة نظري, you are participating in a long tradition of linguistic grace. It shows you are a 'Dhouq' (person of taste) who knows how to navigate social waters. It’s a way of being humble while still being heard.

You might also hear في رأيي (in my opinion), which is a bit shorter and very common. Another one is باعتقادي (in my belief), which feels a little more personal or philosophical. If you want to sound really fancy in a formal essay, you might see من منظوري (from my perspective). But for daily life, من وجهة نظري is the gold standard.
