Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use the particle 'deyil' after a noun or adjective to negate a sentence in Azerbaijani.
- Place 'deyil' after the noun or adjective: 'Mən müəllim deyiləm' (I am not a teacher).
- Attach the personal suffix to 'deyil' instead of the noun: 'O xoşbəxt deyil' (He is not happy).
- Use 'deyil' for all subjects, just change the suffix: 'Biz tələbə deyilik' (We are not students).
