Negative Imperatives (Getmə!)
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
To tell someone not to do something, add the suffix '-mə' or '-ma' to the verb root before the person marker.
- Use '-ma' if the last vowel is a, ı, o, u (e.g., Yazma! - Don't write!)
- Use '-mə' if the last vowel is e, ə, i, ö, ü (e.g., Getmə! - Don't go!)
- For plural or formal, add '-yın/-yin' after the negative suffix (e.g., Getməyin! - Don't go!)
