Using Past Continuous for Ongoing Past Actions

Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

Use the Past Continuous to describe actions that were in progress at a specific time in the past.

  • Add '-chilam' for first person: Ami porchilam (I was reading).
  • Add '-chile' for second person: Tumi porchile (You were reading).
  • Add '-chilo' for third person: Se porchilo (He/She was reading).
