Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use the Past Continuous to describe actions that were in progress at a specific time in the past.
- Add '-chilam' for first person: Ami porchilam (I was reading).
- Add '-chile' for second person: Tumi porchile (You were reading).
- Add '-chilo' for third person: Se porchilo (He/She was reading).
Meanings
The Past Continuous tense describes an action that was ongoing or incomplete at a specific point in the past.
Ongoing Background Action
An action that was happening when another event interrupted it.
