Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
To ask for permission or make a request in Kazakh, use the '-a/-e/-y alu' structure or the polite '-shy/-shi' suffix.
- Use '-a/-e/-y alu' (can I take/do) for asking permission: 'Кіре аламын ба?' (Can I enter?)
- Add '-shy/-shi' to the imperative for a polite request: 'Маған көмектесші' (Please help me).
- Use 'болады' (it is allowed) to grant permission: 'Иә, кіруге болады' (Yes, you may enter).
