Use the Oblique mood to report information you didn't witness yourself, adding a layer of hearsay or uncertainty to your statements.
- Use -ot for present tense: 'Viņš ejot' (He is supposedly going).

The Oblique mood (atstāstījuma izteiksme) is used to convey information that the speaker has heard from others or inferred, rather than directly experienced.
Hearsay
Reporting what someone else said.
“Viņa teica, ka braukšot uz Rīgu.”
“Māte stāstīja, ka bērni spēlējoties dārzā.”
Doubt/Uncertainty
Expressing skepticism about a fact.
“Vai tiešām viņš tā teikšot?”
