Wrong: Pronouncing Қ like a standard English K.

І is a very short, almost hidden vowel, whereas И is a long tense vowel.

Wrong: Confusing І (Kazakh soft i) with И (Russian/International i).
Richtig: Using І for short, soft sounds and И for long 'ee' sounds.

In Kazakh, the letter Ұ has a specific crossbar in print and script that distinguishes it from the Russian У.

Wrong: Writing Ұ (hard U) like a Y.
Richtig: Writing Ұ with a horizontal bar to distinguish it from Y.
