Common Mistakes
English 'K' is 'К' in Kazakh. 'Қ' is much further back, almost like a clicking sound in the throat.
І is a very short, almost hidden vowel, whereas И is a long tense vowel.
In Kazakh, the letter Ұ has a specific crossbar in print and script that distinguishes it from the Russian У.
