مخفیانه

Adverbs of manner often end in '-انه' (-aane) in Persian, indicating 'in a ... manner' or '...ly'.

دوستانه (doostaane) - 'friendly' or 'in a friendly manner'

These adverbs are typically placed before the verb they modify.

او مخفیانه وارد خانه شد. (U makhfiana vaared-e khaane shod.) - 'He secretly entered the house.'

They can also be placed after the verb for emphasis, though less common.

او وارد خانه شد، مخفیانه. (U vaared-e khaane shod, makhfiana.) - 'He entered the house, secretly.'

Some adverbs of manner can also function as adjectives, depending on their placement and context in the sentence. However, 'مخفیانه' primarily functions as an adverb.

This rule mostly applies to other -aane words, not directly to makhfiana. For example, 'زیرکانه' (zirakaane - 'cleverly') can also describe a 'clever' plan.

When modifying a noun with an adverbial phrase, it's more common to use a construction with 'به صورت' (be soorat-e) meaning 'in a ... way' or 'in the form of'. However, for simple adverbs like 'مخفیانه', the single word is sufficient.

او به صورت مخفیانه کار کرد. (U be soorat-e makhfiana kaar kard.) - 'He worked in a secret way.' (Less common than just using 'مخفیانه')
