Using Subjunctive for Wishes and Desires
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use the Armenian subjunctive (e.g., 'գնամ') to express wishes, desires, or commands that aren't yet reality.
- Use it after 'ուզում եմ, որ' (I want that) + verb in subjunctive: 'Ուզում եմ, որ գնաս' (I want you to go).
- Use it for indirect commands: 'Ասա նրան, որ գա' (Tell him to come).
- Use it for expressing wishes/hopes: 'Թող գա' (Let him come).

Meanings
The subjunctive mood in Armenian is used to express desire, necessity, or indirect commands, often triggered by specific verbs or conjunctions.
Desire/Will
Expressing what someone wants to happen.
“Ուզում եմ, որ նա գա։”

Granting permission or giving an indirect order.
