معنی
To become known or visible.
زمینه فرهنگی
In Azerbaijani folklore, water is seen as a purifying force that eventually 'spits out' what doesn't belong, leading to the idea that secrets always surface. The history of oil 'surfacing' naturally in Baku (oil seeps) has made the concept of things emerging from the earth very literal and common in the local lexicon. In the context of 'Glasnost' (openness), this phrase became very popular in the 90s to describe historical truths being revealed after years of censorship. Similar to Persian 'ru amadan', the 'face' (üz) is the primary metaphor for visibility and social presence in the region.
Think of Water
Whenever you use this, imagine something floating to the top of a pool. It helps you remember the 'üzə' (to the surface) part.
Don't use with 'Mən'
Unless you were literally hiding in a box, don't say 'Mən üzə çıxdım' to mean 'I arrived'. It sounds very strange.
