Metaphor and Simile: Figurative Language
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Metaphors equate two things directly, while similes use 'like' or 'as' to draw a comparison.
- Simile: Use 'պես' (like) or 'նման' (similar to). Example: 'Նա առյուծի պես քաջ է' (He is brave like a lion).
- Metaphor: State one thing IS another. Example: 'Նրա խոսքը մեղր է' (His words are honey).
- Avoid mixing: Don't confuse literal descriptions with figurative ones.
