Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
In the past tense, if the verb is transitive, the subject takes 'ne' and the verb agrees with the object.
- Add 'ne' after the subject: 'Ali ne khana khaya' (Ali ate food).
- The verb agrees with the object, not the subject: 'Usne seb khaya' (He ate an apple).
- If the object has 'ko', the verb stays masculine singular: 'Usne Ali ko dekha' (He saw Ali).
