Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
In Bulgarian, the future tense uses 'ще' + the verb, but you must choose between perfective (one-time) and imperfective (ongoing) aspects.
- Use imperfective for ongoing actions: 'Ще чета' (I will be reading).
- Use perfective for completed actions: 'Ще прочета' (I will read/finish reading).
- The particle 'ще' remains unchanged for all persons.
Meanings
The future tense in Bulgarian expresses actions that will happen later. The choice of aspect (imperfective vs. perfective) determines if the focus is on the process or the result.
