Definite Article: Feminine (-та)

Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

In Bulgarian, we don't put 'the' before a word; we attach '-та' to the end of feminine nouns.

  • Add '-та' to feminine nouns ending in '-а' or '-я' (e.g., 'жена' -> 'жената').
  • If the noun ends in a consonant, use '-та' (e.g., 'любов' -> 'любовта').
  • The article is always attached to the end of the word without a space.
Noun (feminine) + та = The Noun
