Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

Use the Perfect (Perfect Compus) for completed actions and the Imperfect (Imperfect) for ongoing or habitual actions in the past.

  • Perfect Compus: Use for a single, finished action (e.g., 'Am mâncat' - I ate).
  • Imperfect: Use for ongoing background scenes (e.g., 'Mâncam' - I was eating).
  • Habitual: Use Imperfect for repeated past actions (e.g., 'Mâncam mereu' - I always used to eat).
