Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
To make an imperfective verb negative, wrap it in 'ay-' at the start and '-m' at the end.
- Start with 'ay-' before the verb: ay- + yibela (he eats) = ayyibela.
- Add '-m' to the end of the verb: ayyibela + m = ayyibelam (he does not eat).
- If the verb starts with a vowel, the 'ay-' prefix might merge or shift slightly.
