Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
To negate the past tense in Croatian, simply add the prefix 'ni-' to the auxiliary verb 'biti'.
- Use the negated auxiliary 'nisam', 'nisi', 'nije', etc. (e.g., 'Nisam radio' - I didn't work).
- The past participle (radio/radila) remains unchanged regardless of the negation.
- The negated auxiliary verb always comes before the participle.
