Adjectives: Describing Nouns
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
In Armenian, adjectives almost always come before the noun they describe, and they do not change form.
- Place the adjective before the noun: 'լավ տղա' (good boy).
- Adjectives do not change for gender or number: 'լավ տղաներ' (good boys).
- Use 'է' (is) or 'են' (are) after the noun for predicate adjectives: 'Տղան լավ է' (The boy is good).

Meanings
Adjectives are words that describe or modify nouns. In Armenian, they are placed directly before the noun they modify.
Attributive
Directly modifying a noun.
“Մեծ տուն (Big house)”
“Կարմիր գիրք (Red book)”
Predicate
Describing the state of a noun using a verb.
“Տունը մեծ է (The house is big)”
“Գիրքը կարմիր է (The book is red)”
