Negative Pronouns
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
In Kannada, you create negative pronouns by adding the '-ಉ' (u) suffix to interrogative words followed by a negative verb.
- Use 'ಯಾರೂ' (yaarū) for 'nobody' with a negative verb: ಯಾರೂ ಬಂದಿಲ್ಲ (Nobody came).
- Use 'ಏನೂ' (ēnū) for 'nothing' with a negative verb: ಏನೂ ಇಲ್ಲ (There is nothing).
- Use 'ಎಲ್ಲಿಯೂ' (elliyū) for 'nowhere' with a negative verb: ಎಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಹೋಗಲಿಲ್ಲ (Went nowhere).

Meanings
Negative pronouns are used to express the absence of people, things, or places in a sentence. In Kannada, these are formed by attaching the emphatic particle '-ಉ' to interrogative pronouns.
