Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use long-form pronouns (e.g., 'мене' instead of 'ме') when you want to emphasize WHO the action is happening to.
- Use short forms (ме, те, го) for normal, neutral sentences: 'Той ме видя' (He saw me).
- Use long forms (мене, тебе, него) for emphasis or contrast: 'Мене видя, не него!' (He saw ME, not him!).
- Long forms can also be used after prepositions: 'Това е за мене' (This is for me).

Meanings
Bulgarian uses two sets of object pronouns: short (clitic) forms and long (emphatic) forms. The long forms are used to highlight the object or when the pronoun follows a preposition.
Contrastive Emphasis
Highlighting a specific person in contrast to others.
“Мене търсят, не тебе.”
“Него поканиха, а не нея.”
Prepositional Object
Used after prepositions like 'за' (for), 'от' (from), 'към' (towards).
“Това е за мене.”
“Всички са против него.”
