Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

When a neuter noun is followed by a postposition, the ending changes from -e to -a.

  • If a noun ends in -e, change it to -a before a postposition (e.g., 'ghare' -> 'ghara-t').
  • The oblique form is only used when a postposition (like 'in', 'on', 'with') follows the noun.
  • If the noun doesn't end in -e, the form often stays the same, but watch for vowel shifts.
Noun(-e) + Postposition -> Noun(-a) + Postposition
