يُعين

yu'in

So verwendest du es

When talking about appointing someone to a position or role, you can use يُعين. For example, عيّنهُ مديرًا (He appointed him as a manager). It's also used to talk about determining or establishing something precisely, like عيّنَ موعدَ الاجتماع (He determined the meeting time).

Häufige Fehler

A common mistake is confusing يُعين with يُساعد (to help). While both involve a form of support, يُعين specifically refers to assigning a role or fixing a time/place, whereas يُساعد is a more general 'to help'. For instance, you wouldn't say أعينني في حملِ الحقائب (I appoint me to carry the bags), but rather ساعدني في حملِ الحقائب (Help me carry the bags).
