sérénément
Wichtige Grammatik
Adverbs of manner describe how an action is performed. They often end in '-ment' in French, similar to '-ly' in English.
Elle chante magnifiquement. (She sings magnificently.)
Adverbs are typically placed after the conjugated verb in simple tenses.
Il parle calmement. (He speaks calmly.)
In compound tenses (like passé composé), adverbs of manner are usually placed between the auxiliary verb and the past participle.
Nous avons tranquillement dîné. (We calmly dined.)
When an adverb modifies an adjective or another adverb, it is placed before the word it modifies.
C'est une femme très élégante. (She is a very elegant woman.)
Some adverbs, especially short and common ones, can be placed at the beginning or end of a sentence for emphasis.
Heureusement, il a réussi. (Fortunately, he succeeded.)
