Use the Imperfect Tense to describe ongoing actions or habits in the past; think of it as 'I was doing' or 'I used to'.

  • Add -х, -ше, -ше, -хме, -хте, -ха to the stem for most verbs.
  • Use it for repeated actions: 'Every day I walked to school' (Всеки ден ходех на училище).
  • Use it for background descriptions: 'The sun was shining' (Слънцето грееше).
