If you are a guest and say 'დავიღალე,' your host might feel they haven't entertained you well enough. It's often better to say you are 'sleepy' (მეძინება) to avoid offending the host's efforts. In rural Georgia, admitting tiredness is sometimes seen as a sign of weakness, but in urban centers, it's a common way to bond over shared stress. On the Tbilisi Metro, you will often see people looking visibly 'დაღლილი.' It is polite to offer your seat to someone who looks older and says they are tired. Georgian mothers often use 'დავიღალე' to signal that they need help from their children, often in a slightly dramatic but loving way.
