Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
The genitive case shows possession or relationship by adding -ի or -ու to the end of a noun.
- Most nouns take -ի: e.g., 'գիրք' (book) becomes 'գրքի' (of the book).
- Nouns ending in -ու or specific groups take -ու: e.g., 'կատու' (cat) becomes 'կատվի' (wait, check vowel rules).
- The genitive is used to show ownership: 'Սեղանի ոտքը' (The leg of the table).
