A1 Possessives 1 min read 쉬움

Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

In Kazakh, you show possession by adding a suffix to the family member's name instead of using a separate word like 'my'.

  • For 'my' (1st person singular), add -ym/-im/-m depending on the last letter.
  • For 'your' (2nd person singular), add -yng/-ing/-ng.
  • For 'his/her' (3rd person), add -y/-i/-sy/-si.
Noun + Suffix = Possessive (e.g., Ana (mother) + m = Anam (my mother))
