Review Summary

  • Subject + Verb + เพื่อ + Purpose
  • Subject + Verb + เพราะ + Reason
  • Cause + ดังนั้น + Effect

You cannot use 'Phuea' (purpose) for feelings/states. Use 'Phro' (reason) instead.

(I eat to hungry)
(I eat because I am hungry)

Dang-nan needs a preceding cause to make logical sense.

(Therefore I go home)
(It rains, therefore I go home)

Phuea must follow the action, not start the sentence.

(For I go travel)
(I travel to relax)

Next Steps

You've conquered the 'why' and 'how'! Keep connecting those ideas and you'll be fluent before you know it.

Listen to a Thai podcast and identify three 'because' statements.
