Common Regular Verbs (Present Tense)

Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

Bulgarian verbs change their endings based on the subject; identify the group (I or II) to pick the right suffix.

  • Group I verbs (ending in -а/-я) use endings like -еш, -е, -ем, -ете, -ат.
  • Group II verbs (ending in -и) use endings like -иш, -и, -им, -ите, -ят.
  • The subject pronoun can often be dropped because the verb ending already tells you who is acting.
Subject (optional) + Verb Root + Personal Ending

2

Habitual Action

Actions performed regularly.
