Dort wird der Stoff aus der Vorlesung vertieft und praktisch geübt. Es ist sehr empfehlenswert, diese begleitenden Veranstaltungen zu besuchen.

Nicht immer. Es gibt 'Pflichtveranstaltungen', die man besuchen muss, um den Abschluss zu bekommen, und 'Wahlpflichtveranstaltungen', bei denen man aus einer Liste wählen kann.
