Often Confused With

नतीजतन vs कारण (kaaran)

While 'नतीजतन' talks about the *result*, 'कारण' means 'reason' or 'cause'. They are related but opposite concepts.

नतीजतन vs उद्देश्य (uddeshya)

'नतीजतन' is about what happened, while 'उद्देश्य' means 'purpose' or 'aim' – what one *intends* to happen.

नतीजतन vs तरीका (tareeka)

'नतीजतन' focuses on the outcome. 'तरीका' means 'method' or 'way' – how something is done, not what the outcome is.

Easily Confused

नतीजतन vs अतः (atah)

Often confused with 'नतीजतन' because both can mean 'therefore' or 'hence'. However, 'अतः' is more formal and often used in logical deductions or conclusions.

'नतीजतन' specifically emphasizes the *result* of a preceding action or event, while 'अतः' is more broadly used for general conclusions or inferences.

(He was sick, therefore he did not come to school.)

Can sometimes be confused with 'नतीजतन' as it can introduce a summary or a conclusion. However, 'इस प्रकार' means 'in this way' or 'thus'.

'नतीजतन' focuses on the outcome. 'इस प्रकार' describes the manner or method, or summarizes points that lead to a conclusion.

(He worked very hard, in this way he got success.)

नतीजतन vs परिणामस्वरूप (parinaamaswaroop)

This is very close in meaning to 'नतीजतन' and often interchangeable. Both mean 'as a result'. The confusion arises from their near synonymity.

While very similar, 'परिणामस्वरूप' often carries a slightly more formal tone than 'नतीजतन' and can be used in more official or written contexts.

(It rained a lot, as a result there was a flood.)

नतीजतन vs इसलिए (isliye)

A common and often interchangeable word with 'नतीजतन' in many contexts, as both translate to 'therefore' or 'that is why'.

'नतीजतन' highlights the direct consequence, whereas 'इसलिए' is a more general conjunction for explaining a reason or consequence. 'इसलिए' is much more frequently used in everyday conversation.

(He was hungry, therefore he ate food.)

नतीजतन vs फलस्वरूप (phalswaroop)

Similar to 'परिणामस्वरूप', this word also means 'as a result' or 'consequently', leading to confusion due to close meaning.

Like 'परिणामस्वरूप', 'फलस्वरूप' is a slightly more formal and often literary alternative to 'नतीजतन'. All three convey the idea of a result.

(His carelessness resulted in an accident.)

Memorize It

Mnemonic

Imagine a knot ('nat') being tied, and as a 'result' it forms a 'junction' ('ijatan'). So, 'nat-ijatan' means 'as a result'.

Visual Association

Picture a domino effect where one domino (the cause) falls and then, 'nateeja-tan', many others fall (the result).

Word Web

इस कारण (is kaaraṇ) - because of this फलस्वरूप (phalasvaroop) - consequently परिणामस्वरूप (pariṇāmasvaroop) - consequently अतः (ataḥ) - hence इस प्रकार (is prakaar) - thus
