Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

Introduce yourself by combining your name or nationality with the suffix '-im' (I am).

  • Use 'Ben' (I) for emphasis, though it is often dropped: 'Ben Ahmet' (I am Ahmet).
  • Add the personal suffix '-im' to nouns: 'Öğrenciyim' (I am a student).
  • Use 'değilim' to say 'I am not': 'Öğrenci değilim' (I am not a student).
