Use -di for things you saw or experienced directly, and -miş for things you heard about or discovered later.
- Use -di for direct experience: 'Gəldim' (I came - I was there).
- Use -miş for hearsay or surprise: 'Gəlmiş' (He came - I heard/I see evidence).
- Use -di for historical facts: 'Atatürk 1923-də elan etdi' (Atatürk declared in 1923).
