Future in Questions and Negations
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
To make the future negative, add 'չ' to the verb; to ask a question, use rising intonation.
- Add 'չ' before the future verb: 'կգրեմ' (I will write) → 'չեմ գրի' (I will not write).
- Questions use the same word order as statements but with a question mark and rising tone.
- The negative future uses the auxiliary 'չեմ' + the 'i' form of the verb.

Meanings
The future tense in Armenian expresses actions that will occur. Negation and questions are formed by modifying the auxiliary verb or adding the negative prefix.
Future Negative
Denying a future action.
“Ես չեմ գնա։”
“Նա չի ուտի։”
Future Interrogative
Asking about future intent or occurrence.
“Կգա՞ս։”
“Ի՞նչ կանես։”
