Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use the suffix -in/-ın/-un/-үн to show you are performing an action on yourself.
- Add -in to consonant-ending stems: жуу (wash) -> жуын (wash oneself).
- Add -n to vowel-ending stems: тара (comb) -> таран (comb one's hair).
- Conjugate the resulting verb like any other standard Kazakh verb.
Meanings
The reflexive suffix indicates that the subject of the sentence is also the recipient of the action.
Direct Reflexive
Action performed directly on one's own body.

Self-Benefit
Action performed for one's own benefit.
“Ол үй салынды.”
