Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

When you say 'I don't have' or 'I don't see' something, the object changes its ending to the Genitive case.

  • Use Accusative for positive: 'Imam avto' (I have a car).
  • Use Genitive for negative: 'Nimam avta' (I don't have a car).
  • This applies to most direct objects when negated by 'ne' (not).
