Review Summary
- Imperfect (Background) + Aorist (Action)
- Past Context -> Present Verb
Häufige Fehler
The Imperfect describes an ongoing state. For a completed action like reading a whole book, the Aorist (and perfective aspect) is required.
In a sequence of actions, all verbs should generally be in the Aorist. Using the Imperfect 'сядаше' suggests he was in the middle of sitting down repeatedly or for a long time.
In narratives, 'онзи' is used for remote temporal distance (that day), whereas 'този' (this day) implies the current day or one very close to the speaker.
